Now that the weather is warming up, we will all be hitting the beach and pool soon. Whether your hair is natural or relaxed, you can enjoy the water without worrying about your hair. Here are some tips for minimizing any potential damage from swimming:

Fish braid

  1. Wear a style that will minimize tangles. For me, fish braids are a great way to minimize tangles, enjoy the water, and still look chic.
  2. Wet your hair before you get in the water. Your hair is like a sponge, so you want to fill it with water then it will minimize how much chlorine or salt-water is absorbs. After you wet your hair, saturate with conditioner or shea butter.
  3. Rinse your hair immediately after you get out of the water.
